Anti-Drug Program
Anti Drug Program
In 2008 millions of school children world wide, will benefit from Drug Abuse Resistance Education, (D.A.R.E.), a highly acclaimed program that gives kids the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence. D.A.R.E. was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles and is now being implemented in 75 percent of our nation's school districts and in more than 43 countries. D.A.R.E. is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children from kindergarten through 12th grade how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives.

Overwhelming demand for D.A.R.E. led to the creation the DPS Officers Association Anti-Drug Program. Every year DPS Officers Association contributes thousands of dollars to anti-drug programs throughout the state of Texas. These donations are distributed to Drug and Alcohol Abuse Programs in schools, community organizations, and law enforcement agencies by members of the DPSOA Board of Directors. Your contributions enable the DPS Officers Association to provide the resources needed to both, establish and improve local Drug Awareness Programs as well as provide officer training and student educational materials.
